Mark Rober is a fantastic dude and makes awesome videos! He was working on the world’s biggest Super Soaker and asked me to help build the main structure while I was visiting California. We worked out the scale that he was going for and drew out a grid over a profile picture of the original Super Soaker. I transferred the grid to a sheet of plywood and used it to draw out the picture to scale. I simply cut it out with a jigsaw and built a simple frame out of 1×4.
After I had the general shape of the water gun, it got sent off to a local prop builder to really make it look like the original.
