I played with yo-yos as a kid but never for more than a few minutes. It was one of those things that I didn’t want to spend the time to get good at, so I never really tried. Recently, I got to take a 30 minute yo-yo class with three professional yo-yoers (yes, professional) and it was awesome! I learned a ton of stuff and got a handle on the toy very quickly due to the right type of instruction. As soon as I understood a little bit about it, I started thinking of how to make one.
There are lots of different types of yo-yos and several people have made them on YouTube over the years but I did my best not to watch those and just try it for myself. It actually worked! Check out the video to see how well 🙂
