Oscar poses some good questions..
I was wondering about this myself.. Exactly HOW integrated will Central be with the desktop.. I think (from what little is known about ithe new product) it’s a great idea with a lot of possibilities.. But I’m forseeing some problems.. They aren’t really founded in fact yet, since so little has been released about the actual interface, so I’ll hang on to them for a bit..
When i find out more, we’ll see if I’m right or not..
I’m very curious to see the release schedule for Central on particular platforms..
The real power of this would be for it to run on anything, but the more they add players and extensions the longer it takes to port it to Windows, OS 9, OS X, Linux (and maybe PocketPC,Palm?)..
I’d imagine that the Windos version will be out far before the rest, although I’d love to see them all out at the same time to level the playing field for Flash apps..
Macromedia is dangerously stepping out of the browser (land of “who gives a crap what OS you’re running”) and into the OS specific desktop.
I’m excited, and just really curious how this is gonna be pulled off..
man, i hope I get on the beta team.. 🙂
